Scottsdale Strays is looking for volunteers to help at our adoption center, trap cats, answer our phone, run feeding stations and plan fundraising functions. Most of all, we need FOSTER HOMES! Because so many animals come into the program, we are always looking for qualified people who are willing to provide a temporary home to one or more pet(s) pending their adoption.

Adoptions
Adoption counselors ensure that our animals find appropriate homes. Counselors interview prospective owners and work to find homes that match the needs of the pets with the owners. Additionally, other volunteers are needed to transport animals and aid in adoption center set up and clean up. Adoptions are held at Choice Pet Market, located at 7119 E Shea Blvd. (Southwest corner of Shea Blvd. and Scottsdale Rd.) in Scottsdale. Adoption hours are Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call (480) 202.4800 for more information or visit www.choicepetmarket.com.

Foster Homes
All pets in our program are kept in homes. Not only does this allow us to get to know them in a more natural, loving environment, it is more comfortable for the animals. Foster homes drop off and pick up the pets at the adoption center.

Spay/Neuter/Release
Scottsdale Strays rescues and humanely traps homeless cats that overpopulate the greater Phoenix area. They are taken to participating veterinarians and tested for FeLV and FIV. The cats are then spay/neutered and released at one of our feeding stations. Strayed and injured dogs are rescued from euthanasia, taken to participating veterinarians for health exams, spay/neutered, vaccinated and then placed in foster homes for recovery and adoption.

Housekeeping
Housekeeping seems to be a fact of life. Scottsdale Strays is no exception. Volunteers are needed to help with laundry, dishes and litter pans on an ongoing basis.

Fundraising
To maintain these efforts, we are continually seeking fundraising ideas. Scottsdale Strays can only continue to exist through the kindness of others. Volunteers aid with fundraising, monitoring donation jars, helping with the annual raffle and auction, organizing and working wine tastings and rummage sales. We encourage and welcome new fundraising ideas.

WANTED!

Scottsdale Strays is seeking horse property, gardeners sheds, or other appropriate locations to establish a new feeding station for a colony of feral cats. These cats are not socialized for adoptions and make excellent pest/rodent control. All cats are sterilized and FeLV/FIV negative. As a stabilized colony, these cats keep others from joining the group. Please email Cindy Langdell or call (480) 202.4800 for more information.
